Hi I'm Taylor

I'm 6'2, 200 lbs, a finely tuned athletic machine, and a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Taylor Brinkerhoff. I love Basketball, and my dream is to be a coach at the High School or College level someday. I am serving a Full Time Mission in San Diego, California. Which is awesome, because my best friend in the whole world is serving a mission as well, so we'll be able to share this wonderful experience together. At the age of 13, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. My amazing parents have 6 children, me being one of them. 4 of my siblings are married and all 4 of them have children. I have been a competitive Pokemon Trainer since the age of 13 but I suppose my career is over after the whole maturing thing that happens on an LDS mission. I've played basketball since I was really little, but I didn't ever get any good til I was about 15 and even then I was never the best. I ran Cross Country and played Volleyball (poorly) in High school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, but that's not the reason that I am still here, for a period of time I considered myself agnostic. I knew I wasn't fully living the way I needed to be and I didn't want to believe, because the guilt was too much for me. So the easiest way out was to try and find any reason to not believe. But in my heart I still knew it was right. Even though I didn't have much faith, I still attended church due to some of my Best Friends being in our Ward, and my parents expecting me to go. I never put up a fight even though at times I'm sure I didn't want to go, I didn't want to learn that I was doing wrong... but in the end... everything I was thinking was wrong... I didn't understand the changing power of the Atonement! Thank goodness for faithful parents and friends, who kept helping me on the path, even though they may not have noticed the internal anguish I was facing. Prayer and Sincere Repentance have changed my life and will work for anybody who truly seeks them. I have felt the Atonement change me into a new person in Christ. I know The Book of Mormon is true, and that is why I'm so firm in the faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

How I live my faith

I live my faith, by making God my priority, when things get rough, you gotta drop to your knees and pray, and if you make the effort to really seek an answer, God will give it to you. I'm serving as a missionary in San Diego, and I love helping people to realize the power of overcoming our challenges here, by turning to the Lord through Prayer, Faith, and Repentance.
