Hi I'm Sage

Born and raised in Colorado, I love my religion, spending time in nature, and automotive engineering

About Me

I am college student pursuing a career as a mechanical engineer. As such I enjoy spending most of my time in my studies, but I also find great purpose in balancing my life with religion and with friends. In spite of academic and church responsibilities I am blessed to spend time with good friends and be in nature; whether it be a hike, a game of ultimate frisbee, or an afternoon of slacklining, I love to be outdoors-- I think nature brings out the best in all of us!

Why I am a Mormon

Though I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life, I can say with certainty that the only reason I am still a member is that as I have lived the high standards of the gospel in my youth, I have felt a greater purpose of being, increased love for others, and, quite simply, I am happy! Yet my love for the gospel of Jesus Christ goes deeper than that. Yes, living the gospel makes me happy, but that happiness and understanding and love for others is a result of the knowledge I have. I have lived and studied the gospel of the Jesus Christ as taught in the Bible and Book of Mormon-- the same teachings contained in those books and taught by prophets of old are the same principles that are taught consistently throughout the world in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Like all of us, I am far from perfect in following those teachings sometime, but in not being perfect, we are able to learn; I myself know that I am happier and closer to my Heavenly Father when I am abiding by the teachings of Christ than when I'm not. So, what's the bottom line? I am a Mormon because I believe that through my Savior, Jesus Christ, I have been redeemed from my imperfections, and that as I follow the plan he gave us in his teachings on earth, that I can feel comfortable in the presence of my God in the day I see him again. I know truth I dare not call false, have known too many good people in this church to call them false, and seen too many miracles to think them coincidence.

How I live my faith

In a lifetime of membership in the Church, I have had many opportunities to serve others. But the greatest yet is the opportunity I have now to serve as a full-time missionary of the Church in the Vanuatu, Port Vila Mission. I believe whole-heartedly that there isn't much use in knowing something unless you act on that knowledge. Growing up in the Church has given me the opportunity to seek, live, and verify a foundation of personal testimony as to the existence of our Father in Heaven, why I am here on earth, what my purpose is, and the significance of Jesus Christ in the plan of it all; because I have this knowledge, something that I Know and cannot deny, I am happily to turn right around and share it with others as I get to know, love, and serve the people of my mission.
