Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Xochitl Summers

I'm a missionary that loves musicals and learning new things. I can see a bright future ahead. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Utah and I've been a member of the LDS faith since I was eight. When I was baptized I had no doubt that I was doing the right thing. I know its weird to think that I could have so much faith at such a tender age, but it's true! The teenage years were a roller coaster of emotions; luckily I had friends with standards that could keep me afloat in an ever-changing world. By being surrounded with people of such faith I had little to no trouble following the commandments given by our Father in Heaven. The college years were when my testimony really became cemented: I found out what it means to be a true disciple of Christ and I learned that I could be a faithful member of this church with or without a support system. I want to find ways to proclaim the gospel in all times, all things all places; so I decided to serve an 18-month mission. Consecrating my time to the Lord has already changed my perspective so much and I can't wait to learn more about how to become like My Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this is the true Church of Christ. So many people on this earth believe in God. So many people are trying to find their way back to Him and I know that this gospel shows the way to everlasting happiness and exaltation. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He has suffered for my sins, He has taken on every heartache and every pain so that He can be there for me in my time of need. Christ Lives. Joseph Smith knew it, so he followed the commandments by doing what was required of Him. The modern day Prophets know it, so they continue to move the work forward to all nations and all people. I know that these things are true, so I try to live as My Redeemer lives. I try to follow in His footsteps.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. It's the little things like giving quiet acts of service or reading my scriptures regularly that helps me to grasp this Gospel and never let go. I have attended Institute classes that strengthen my testimony and help me to share the gospel with others. I also try to go to the temple as much as my schedule allows. I started attending the temple regularly a few years ago and ever since then I cannot imagine my life without it. I know that the covenants made there are sacred and that they give strength in the midst of any trial you are facing.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Xochitl Summers
The Family is a sacred unit that can continue throughout the eternities. If you are married in a Temple of the Lord by someone with the proper priesthood authority, then you can have the blessings of family relationships that do not end with death. The Family is the center of the church. I know that the family is ordained of God. The most beautiful thing that we can do on this earth is create mortal bodies for our Father in Heaven's spirit children. There is nothing that will give us greater joy, that is why it is important to have children and to teach them the ways of Christ. Show more Show less
