Hi I'm Kristy

I am the mother of 4 young children. Their smiles and laughter bring me happiness. I love my family! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the warm state of Arizona. My husband and I met in college, where we graduated together. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education, with a specialization in Mathematics. The next school year, we moved to the very cold state of Ohio so my husband could attend Law School. It was difficult to live so far away from our families for 3 years. But this time away helped us become closer to each other. Upon his graduation, we were happy to move back to sunny Arizona. We have been blessed with 4 beautiful children, 2 girls and 2 boys. My children try my patience on a daily basis. But I love them with all of my heart and only want the best for them. I try to set a good example for them and teach them of things that are of true importance in this life. Other than my husband and children, I enjoy watching baseball games, playing tennis, and cross-stitching.

Why I am a Mormon

One of the main reasons that I'm a Mormon is because I love my family, not only my husband and children but also my parents and siblings, very much. I want to always be with them. I cannot imagine a life without them. I love having the knowledge that families can be together forever. Because of our Savior, I have the opportunity to return home to my Heavenly Father and live with Him eternally. I can't imagine any greater joy than to share that with those that I love. I want to be with them forever! I also love this church because it helps set a clear path for what I need to be doing in this life. It tells me where I'm going and what I need to do to get there. It also gives me guidelines on things that I need to be doing as a parent. It helps me teach principles of honesty, trustworthiness, obedience, righteousness, and virtue to my children. They help me remember what I'm supposed to be doing and hopefully I'm setting a good example so that they know what they are supposed to be doing too.

How I live my faith

I strive to study my scriptures and pray everyday. This helps me to speak to my Heavenly Father and also hear responses from him through the scriptures. This cycle of scripture study and prayer strengthens my resolve to strive to live better. It helps me to remember my Savior, Jesus Christ, everyday and it reminds me to work harder at keeping the commandments. I also know that I am responsible for my children, not only their physical and emotional well-being, but also their spiritual well-being. I make sure that no one leaves the house in the morning without us having family prayer. I know that this helps my children remember that they are supposed to choose the right even after they leave. I also try to make sure that we read scriptures together as a family. My children love to hear the scripture stories and I'm always amazed at what they learn from them. The scriptures teach them important values and most importantly that their Heavenly Father knows them and loves them. I know that Jesus loves children and I try to be patient and loving with them as they learn and grow.
