Hi I'm Matt

I am a father of four. I want what is best for my children and want to raise them the right way. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of four and I love my wife and kids. I have been married to the love of my life for 20 years. I love to road bike and mountain bike for exercise. My family owns a business that manufactures industrial valves used in refineries, pipelines, power plants, etc. My father started the business 45 years ago and I work every day with my Mom, Dad and all of my siblings (three brothers and one sister). I feel very blessed in my life, even though in 2012 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The Lord gives us adversity to make us stronger.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is what the Lord wants me to be. He loves us so much that he restored His church to the earth and invites all of his children to become members of it. I am grateful to be a member of a church that has the authority to act in God's name. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only church on the earth that can say that. It is also the only church that has Apostles and Prophets to guide us in these times of gross wickedness. I have a testimony given to me by the Holy Ghost that this church is true. I was raised in this church but it is because of my testimony that I am still a member of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of what a believer in Christ should do. I thank my parents for the example they gave to me as a child. Because of them and their example, I can proudly say that I have never smoked a cigarette, never drank alcohol, never used drugs, and did not have sex before marraige. I had the opportunity of showing my faith in Jesus Christ by serving a mission for Him for two years in the Texas Fort Worth Mission. I was taught in my youth that serving a mission was what the Lord wanted my to do. I teach my kids these same values and principles and my greatest blessing would be to have all of my children keep the commandments of the Lord. I pray that my example will help them do that. I am also living my faith by serving as the Bishop of my ward.
