Hi I'm Shawn Michael Walker

I am a Mormon!

About Me

98% of life I consider play time. I am always happy and I am always laughing, especially at church. I waited my whole life to be the best husband and father I could be. Now I am living that dream. My wife is the greatest blessing I have ever recieved from the Lord and from that blessing I have two AWE-SOME kids. My family is my life. I am an insurance professional, working hard to provide for my family. Oh, little story about that: I remember the moment I held my first child; I remember three distinct feelings. One, I would love my child endlessly forever (I remember learning that this must be what our Father in Heaven feels for us). Two, I would do everything I could to proctect her. And three (the reason I'm telling this story), I would do everything in my power to provide for her and my wife. I love my Family. My family and I recently moved from Dallas, Texas to Highlands Ranch, Colorado to cool off. Way too hot in Texas! Can I get a witness?! My new favorite music is acoustic punk rock and I enjoy singing at open microphones on weekends.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember when I was 17. My mom and dad got divorced. My dad and another immediate family member left the church. There was never a better time to look objectively at Mormonism and ask really hard questions. That was the time to learn for myself, to find out for myself if my childhood faith was correct. I remember seeking the truth for myself, exploring for truth all over, asking the Lord for answers and getting them, in spectacular ways. I love the Lord Jesus Christ more than ANTHING, and I find others with a like devotion and love for Christ all around me, in and out of the Mormon church.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the youth in the Church for years. I believe the most simple lesson a teenager can learn is that the Lord will always love them, endlessly, much like I love my kids, I think. "His hand is out stretched still." He won't abandone us, ever, no matter what, he wants us back in his fold. Bam!
