Hi I'm Kelsie

I love sewing, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a stay at home mom. I have a beautiful baby girl that took 4 years before she entered this world to be a part of our family. We are grateful everyday for our little miracle. I love being a mom and during free time (nap time) I LOVE sewing. I love to do anything with applique and especially making purses. Lately I have been trying my hand at making dresses and skirts for my little girl. It is trial and error sometimes, but I enjoy it and learning new techniques. Lately I have also had a huge interest in learning how to can and preserve food and also baking from scratch. I enjoy it, although still have much to improve on, especially when it comes to bread.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always known God was real and knew He was there, but it took me a little longer to know for a fact Mormonism was true. I was a teenager and just wanted to know without a doubt, for myself, that it was true. I had prayed over and over and started to seek it out and read the Book of Mormon. I started to learn more about the people in it and also about Joseph Smith and all he had gone through. I didn't have a huge thing happen and no miraculous thing happened to me as others might have had, but I did have a reassurance and felt the Holy Ghost as I studied this out and one day, out of nowhere, I had the thought, without a doubt, I knew that it was true. I could tell myself and others honestly "I know this gospel is true." There was no denying it for me and have since continued to feel that I am where the Lord wants me to be. I have felt His love and Him guiding me constantly to continue to follow His way. I also know what we are counseled by the Prophet to do is from God and is there to help us and make us happy and to help us return to our Father in Heaven. I love being a Mormon and know what the gospel teaches is true and I strive to live my life everyday as the Savior would want me to.

How I live my faith

I follow what we are counseled to do. I keep the 10 commandments because I know they are there to help us be happier and teach us to become closer to God. I pray often, a few times a day and teach my daughter to try to teach her how to pray. I am teaching her about Jesus and hope she can know at a young age that He is there for her to help her and she can turn to Him in prayer anytime. I like to help out where I can and enjoy serving the sister's in church and my neighbors.
