Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in Arizona, I'm a dad, a banker, and a terrible golfer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 20 years; my wife and I are the parents of 4 GREAT kids. I graduated from ASU in 1999 with a degree in Marketing. I have worked in the banking industry for 20 years. When I'm not at work, I enjoy watching the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona State Sun Devil baseball, golfing, fishing, and spending time with my family. My wife, children, and I are all natives of Arizona. We spend lots of time up in the mountains taking in the great outdoors. My son will be serving a mission in Ghana, Africa, and I've got two high schoolers, and one in elementary school. Those activities, along with piano lessons, school concerts, and other community events keep us very busy. We all love the summer, because that means lots of time in the pool.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church for all my life. My ancestors were some of the great pioneers in the Church who sacrificed much to bring about the Lord's work. Many of them crossed the plains with the early members of our Church to help establish communities out west. My testimony is not built based on one main experience; rather, it is based upon watching and recognizing the hand of the Lord in my life in good times and in bad. He has always been there to lift up those around me when we needed it most. This Church helps me to be a better husband and father. I know that if I remain faithful, I will be able to be with my family for all eternity, not just "'til death do us part." I know that the Church is true. The Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God, and together they testify of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had several opportunities to serve in the church and community ranging from teaching children and teenagers in Sunday School, to leading young men in scouts, from a mission in Pusan, South Korea to leadership roles. I especially enjoy helping others in all walks of life, as well as my time with the young men and young women in the Church helping them grow and prepare for life as adults and good citizens. For almost six years, I had the opportunity to serve as a Bishop in Mesa, AZ. It was some of the most rewarding time for me and my family, as we were able to watch the Lord direct and bless the lives of so many in our congregation.
