Hi I'm Becky.

I'm a mother by day, an archaeologist by trade, and a classic rocker by dream. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live a simple and happy life. I studied archaeology in college, and just went on a fantastic dig. I love running and ran my first a half marathon this year. When I'm not enjoying my toddler, you'll find me reading, out with friends, spending time with my husband, or taking in a little TV.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the gospel teaches correct ideas. It's the framework I use to solve problems, make decisions, and find happiness. Although my parents raised me in the church, I decided to know for myself that the teachings of the church were true through prayer and study. As a teenager, I received my answer--I felt good being a member because the teachings were true. As an adult, my knowledge of the truthfulness of the church and the gospel continue to grow. I've come to know personally that God exists. He hears my prayers. He answers. I know undoubtedly that He loves me. I know the Savior did suffer to pay for our sins. I am so grateful for His sacrifice because it comforts me and takes away my burdens. I know that the Mormon church--or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-- is the same church Jesus Christ established in the New Testament. That's why the teachings of the church are true! I am so grateful that Joseph Smith restored the church to the earth. If you look for God, you will find Him everywhere in your life. I know. I have looked and I have found Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making it part of my everyday routine and thoughts. I study my scriptures each day and I pray many times throughout the day. I draw on the gospel to help me understand life and help me make good decisions. I teach my toddler about Heavenly Father and Jesus and how They want us to live. My husband and I make our family our top priority, and we are happy. I look forward to attending church meetings. I love to learn about the gospel on Sundays at church and I enjoy associating with other members at meetings. I teach the young women during church as well. We have a great time during lessons. We talk, ask questions, read scriptures, and laugh together. One of my favorite things to do with the girls is to attend their activity night once a week. We go swimming, make crafts, play games, and do a lot of talking and laughing there as well. These activities help the young women create strong friendships with other youth of the church. It's one highlight of my week.
