Hi I'm Jared.

I'm a father of two, a former firefighter/paramedic now a telecom field tech and i'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two beautiful kids, a boy and a girl. I am currently married, but my wife and I separated and preparing to go our separate ways. I currently work as a Field Technician for a major international telecommunications company and love every minute of it. My work is outdoors over 99% of the time, which is great because I seem to be allergic to office cubicles:) I used to be a volunteer firefighter/paramedic, but it became very difficult managing time between my hobby and my family, so I let go of my hobby to spend more time with my wife and kids. Other than that, I love being outside, but I also love to sack out and watch movies or read to help me unwind. I love my family both extended and immediate. My immediate family is spread all the way from New York to Oregon and everywhere in between, and my extended family lives all the way over in Finland! That much distance between everyone makes get togethers tough, but we all keep in close touch through video chat, social networks and e-mail. My family is everything.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon and so are my three older siblings. My mom converted when she was young and my dad has a family history in the church dating back to when the pioneers crossed the plains to Utah. My great, great grandfather immigrated to America from England and journeyed across the country, on foot, to join the Saints in Utah in the late 1860's. I am a Mormon not just because my ancestors were, but because I know it's real and true. All the experiences in my life, both good and bad, have only increased that belief. I see the blessings that come from being obedient to the commandments of God and I have seen the consequences of bad choices both in my life and others'. I look around me everyday and marvel at the complexity of everything and wonder how people can believe that there is not a God. Everything in this world both past and present has a purpose to fulfill, not matter how great or small, it matters to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and do my best to read my scriptures and pray daily. But the only way I can live my faith is to live it one day at a time.
