Hi I'm Jim

Lake Powell has been my playground for over 50 yrs., as I was raised in Page, Az. I have been with U.P.S. for 32 yrs. I'm a mormon

About Me

Hello, My name is James. I am a husband and a father of three daughters. I have worked for United Parcel Service for over thirty years. I am a weekend tennis warrior, and my hobbies include hiking, camping, boating, and enjoying any of natures beauty. This is when I can feel the peace and tranquility. A time to reflect, regroup, and prepare for another week of work and challenge. Life can too often overwhelm and discourage us, and this is why I have chosen to acknowledge and serve a Heavenly Father and a living Christ. I believe most answers to life's questions can be found through studying, and praying about what I read in the scriptures. The Bible contains the word of God, as does The Book of Mormon, which is a second witness of Christ. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and much of the world has come to recognize this church from the nickname derived from our belief in The Book of Mormon. So, yes, I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

This church teaches the same principles and ordinances that existed in the time of Christ. The power and authority of Christ has been restored upon the earth today. We have living Prophets and apostles receiving revelation on our behalf to give guidance and direction in these troubled times. God loves and cares about us as he did his children in the time of Moses and Abraham. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He knows each one of us. He is always there for us. We believe that we can live together as families, that we can see our loved ones after death. What a joyful reunion this will be. This is why we stress the importance of family. The scriptures teach the importance of not just believing in Christ, but, be ye followers of Christ. This is a life long process and commitment. Being a Mormon provides the truth, guidance, hope, faith, and courage to achieve this salvation

How I live my faith

One of the many extraordinary diversities of this church is the time and commitment provided by the members without receiving pay. I have been called to a position of leadership which requires many hours of sacrifice. As i ponder the callings and assignments of most members in the church, I acknowledge that they too have been blessed with personal sacrifices. After all, what is a leader? A true leader is one who simply provides service to others. We bless each other in the giving and receiving of service. As Christ stated in Mathew 25:40 Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. I am one of the least of these. I struggle, I fail, I sin, I fall. Through the atonement of Christ, and by the grace of God, I repent, I get up, I recommit, I live again!
