Hi I'm Becki

I am a mother of 6,and a grandmother of 9. I am a quilt teacher and raise a garden. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a grandparent raising 2 granddaughters ages 8 and11. I was a telemetry tech at a major Hospital for 6 years. As my family got larger, I decided to become a stay at home MOM, and have the joy of watching and helping my children grow. In my younger days,( the kids say I am old as dirt) I was the youngest lifeguard in my county in southern CA. I love all things connected to water. Trained for JR Olympics and swam the 500 meter freestyle. snorkeling is a thing both my husband and I enjoy. We have snorkeled in Australia, Figi, Hawaii, Yucatan peninsula and many Caribbean Islands. I am a travel agent with a home based business and also food storage preparedness Consultant with a large company. I quilt in my spare!!! Time and raise a garden and chickens. I love the caning and preserving of the things that I grow each year. I had a quilt shop for 6 years and have taught quilting for over 30 years. I also teach home arts that are fading away such as canning, pickling, and bread making. I am extremely interested in my heritage, and would one day like to visit Scotland. I have been married for 40+ years, and have 6 children and 9 grandchildren. With being a full-time "parent" for the second time, I am busy with sport practices, piano ,band, dance and the rest of the things that go with raising girls. I enjoy cruising and Visiting many different cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose at the age of 12 to be baptized in to the Church of Jesus Christ. I was not raised Mormon, but the values and standards of the church rang true to me. The knowledge of the plan of salvation that is for all, gives me hope for the future and brings me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. As a teenager in the "60's" the moral compass that the church gave me helped me from making many wrong decisions as a teenager. I find as I grow older that the teachings of Christ help me in all aspects of life. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I know that we have a Father in Heaven, and that Christ is his son. I know that the Holy Ghost is the comforter promised to us as we strive to live a Christ like life. The scriptures are the word of God and the Book of Mormon is a second witness of Christ. I know that we have a living prophet on earth today that speaks with God and councils us in the Gospel of Christ. The Plan of Salvation Is for all of Gods children and is how we will return to him. I know that the family unit is Gods way and we will continue as a family united in Christ when we leave this world. I also know that if you read the Book of Mormon and pray with a sincere heart, that all will be given to your understanding and you will find joy everlasting.

How I live my faith

During my many years in the church I have held many positions of responsibility. Cub Scout Den Mother for 8 years, home making leader for our woman's origination, camp councilor to the young women at the yearly girls camp and Sunday school teacher to many different age groups. But I think my favorite position I ever had was as a genealogy librarian. It has been a continual joy for over 30 years. I have organized preparedness fairs and Scout banquets. I have had the privilege of passing on home arts to 2 generations of young women. My life has always revolved around my family and the church. The fellowship and sense of belonging has been a strength during all of life's adversities and the greatest joys. The standards of the church have help make me the person that I am and passing those on to my children and grandchildren is a life long commitment. My commitment to daily scripture study, prayer and having a family night has helped me in the lifestyle that I chose so many years ago. Striving to be more like Christ is an ongoing process that must be worked on daily. Helping others, compassion and true love for my fellow man is very important to me. I always try to be a better person than what I was yesterday.
