Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a wife, a mother/autism advocate, a snowboarder, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Some things about me? Hmmmm... Well, I LOVE music! All kinds. I used to teach elementary music and think it's one of the best jobs ever! Even though I don't teach anymore, I still love to sing (mostly in my car and to my kiddos' Disney movies). The one job I've found that's even better than being a teacher, is being a MOM! I have two sweet little boys, one of whom is autistic. We have had an amazing journey in our family thanks to him. Both my boys have taught me so much, and bring so much happiness into my life. Also, in the last few years, I've found a new passion thanks to my incredible husband: SNOWBOARDING! He was a patient teacher, and this last season, I finally graduated from beginner to what I think as slightly-above-average. :) I love my family so very much, and love enjoying the wonderful state of Colorado with them!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by my parents who lived great examples of what it means to truly live your faith. However, they also always encouraged me to study, pray, and make decisions for myself. I did just that. As I grew into an adult, I put the things I'd learned to the test, and found for myself that I know God exists, knows me, and loves me. I know Jesus Christ died for me and lives as my Savior. Through Him, I can be with my Heavenly Father again, and with my family forever. I know that this Church is His gospel restored to the earth. The teachings I've learned as a Latter-Day-Saint, have helped me at every point and stage of my life. They have helped me be a better person in every way, and brought me a closer relationship with my Heavenly Father, and Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I just try to live it one day at a time! To me, living my faith means that I need to try to be a good wife, mother, friend and neighbor - to serve those around me. Taking care of my family, watching my friend's children, singing in the church choir, accepting a calling to be a teacher at church, are all ways I can serve others right now. I also love that our church has the visiting teaching program. Women are thoughtfully and prayerfully assigned a few other women from church, that we are responsible for being a friend/helper to. I have loved getting to know those ladies and finding ways to be a good friend to them. It's such a great way to make a new friend and care for them as Christ would!
