Hi I'm Melody

I love the ukulele. I study TESOL. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a master's student getting a degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. I want to teach English to refugees who have come to the United States. I don't believe there is anything more gratifying than teaching people something they need to know. I am also a middle school teacher. I teach English and Spanish and simply love people at all stages of their lives. Every person is amazing. I also enjoy sporting events. Long distance running is my favorite. Recently 11 friends and I ran through the day and night to complete a 189 mile relay race. The van we were in was full of exhausted people, stuff strewn everywhere, and particularly heinous smells. We loved it!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon simply because I've received answers to my prayers. I've asked my Heavenly Father in prayer if the church is true, if Joseph Smith was a prophet, and if the Book of Mormon is true. He truly answers prayers and He has answered mine regarding these matters! There are no words to describe how miraculous it is to know pure truth from Heaven. I've seen what comes to people that live the commandments of Heavenly Father. They are happy! I know that the commandments come from my Father in Heaven who loves me more than I can understand. I want to return to be with Him and my family. He has shown me the way to do that. I also know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He is my Savior because without Him, it would be impossible for me to return to be with my Heavenly Father. I do not and cannot fully comprehend the atonement and the suffering that Christ went through for me, but I love Him for it and want to live for Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving people. I love to serve people. I love to teach people. I love to associate with them. I love making dinner for people. I love helping people move into or our of their homes. I love to help people write their English papers. I love to check for grammatical errors on people's home work. I love to laugh with people. I give hugs. We are all brothers and sisters here on this Earth and I am lucky to have the chance to be amongst so many great people and possibly help a few along the way.
