Hi I'm Leona

I'm a Mormon. I was born in UT and grew up in CA, AZ and MI.

About Me

I am married and a mother of 5 sons, all grown, have 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. l love reading, walking, am soon to retire from working part time. Hope to work on geneology especially on my husband's family. I like fly fishing, travel, camping and love doing things with my family and friends. I enjoy beautiful sunsets and sunrises, writing poetry and have had 2 poems published. I have been to Fiji twice and love the place and the people.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a Mormon pioneer heritage. Grew up in the church but at times when my parents were inactive I was also but never in my life have I ever doubted the truthfulness of the Gospel. Because of things that have happened in my life I KNOW that this is Christ's church, that He lives and loves each and everyone who is upon this earth. All nature testifies that there is a God and that Christ is His Son., That the Bible and the Book of Mormon go hand in hand and testify of Jesus Christ. I know that His Atonement covers all facets of each of our lives and when we study and get to know Christ and God that we are blessed beyond anything we could hope for. Our lives are happier and we feel a closeness to God and Christ that I do not believe that those not knowing them feel. I thank the Lord each day that I was blessed to be born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and did not have to search it out. The family and moral values that are taught in the church bring more happiness and less pain in our lives if we but follow this advise. Our teachers and leaders teach us many priniples and then we apply them into our lives. We are never forced to do anything. It is our choice to listen and apply these things in our lives or not to do them. I find that my life is in more order and I am happier when I do the things that are taught. I love the Lord and thank Him daily for all prayers answered (He does answer each and every prayer that I have ever had in my life) and for all things that are mine to have and to use. I am gratefull to my ancestors who were strong enough and faithful enough to make this Gospel of Christ available to me.

How I live my faith

I attend Church each Sunday have a calling (assignment) and am a visiting teacher. I have been in a position that required working in the community to help others, have taught children, youth and adults. And when I am involved with helping others it improves the quality of my own life. I try to always be forgiving, to love all people and not to judge others for I know that only God can know what is in a persons heart and mind and who can love enough to know what each of us goes through in our individual lives so the judging I leave up to God. I live what is called the Golden Rule: I treat others the way I would like them to treat me. And I feel that in a land that is free to worship as they may that I can worship as to what I know is right and give all others this same consideration.

Who are the Mormons?

Mormans are people like everyone else. They have weaknesses and faults but also have strengths in various facets of life. They can be found in the work places around the world, in neighborhoods, stores, shopping centers, driving down a street etc. In other words they are just ordinary people like everyoe else in the world. We try always to live a Christ like life like He did when He was on the earth. The name Mormon comes from us believing in the Book of Mormon but the name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We belive in Christ, we worship Christ and we preach Christ. We also believe in God the Eternal Father and in the Holy Ghost. And believe them to be 3 seperate beings with one purpose.
