Hi I'm Hayden

I'm a total nerd, love writing and reading, and love cooking, and a missionary in the Canada Edmonton mission...and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a big tech nerd. If it has a touch screen, or a controller or a mouse, I am into it. I love computers, I love video gaming, and I love using technology. I am so glad I grew up in a day and age that allowed me to be so well versed in technology, because I don't think I would be able to survive without it! I want to try and go into something tech centered for my dream job. I am currently serving a mission in Edmonton Canada. I am devoting two years of my life to serving the Lord and the people of Edmonton to help all (member or not...) come to a better knowledge of the plan Heavenly Father has for them and their families. I love to cook, cooking has been something I have been interested in since I was little. I always liked to help mom cook, or to help dad bake. I love to try new things and to cook and bake whenever I can. I love to read, but I love it even more to write. I love to write the things I would want to read if I were on the other end, as the reader. I write a little bit of fiction, and post it online. It pehaps one of the bravest things I've done in my life, to write and then put it out on the web where all can see, read, and give input. But I love it, and love my writing. I try and write in a way so that others can see through my characters eyes, see my characters, and understand what it is they feel, so that it all feels real and believeable. I dislike stories that leave out details, and leave the reader guessing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but it was up to me to decide whether or not this church was true. My dad had me read the Book of Mormon at a young age and pray about it, I prayed, and I received an answer, But it really wasn't until a couple weeks later I really felt like I gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon, and also of this church. I went to see the Joseph Smith movie with some friends at the Visitor's Center of the Mesa, Arizona Temple. As I was watching, the Spirit came so strongly to me. The Spirit told me that the Book of Mormon was true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that the church was true. I feel grateful almost everyday to be a member of this church, and how it has changed my life, for the better.

How I live my faith

Scripture reading and prayer are such a big part of my life. Having the word of God and being able to have the freedom to read and worship how I might is a big blessing I am thankful for each day of my life. Prayer is also a big part. To be able to pray to our Heavenly Father and to know that he is there and hears me is something that has helped my life in building my testimony of this church. I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving for two years. I was a member of a church in the Southwest, and enjoyed going to church weekly and serving as a home teacher with my dad. Right up to my mission, I lived in a way that I could feel the Spirit in my life. The Spirit, and having the gift of it in my life is something I think helps me prepare to be a better missionary, before my mission, during my mission and after. To have its companionship, to never feel alone, and to have its guidence to help me in times of trouble, need, or danger has helped me so much in my life.
