Hi I'm Amanda

I am a makeup artist, beauty school teacher, and a devoted wife and mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Nothing brings more joy to me than my family. My husband and I have a young son. Being a mother and wife is the most honorable calling that I have received in life. I love being home with my son to watch him grow and nurture is sweet little spirit. I also work part time at a local beauty school. Teaching there is very rewarding for me because I am helping other people to embark on a new journey in their lives. One of my favorite hobbies is reading. Over the years I have been slowing building my own personal library. I hope that one day I can inspire my children to become avid readers like myself. My other hobby is music, whether I am singing, dancing or trying to play an instrument, a good tune can always get me through my day.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I was only partly active in church when I would go and visit my dad in the summers. When I was back home again with my mom, I often visited some of my very close friends christian youth groups . They always very kind to me and I really enjoyed myself, but I always felt there was something missing and I couldn't quite place what it was. When I moved to a new city when I was 13 I made some friends at school who were Mormon. We quickly became close and they invited me to attend church and their youth activities. I remember when I walked into the church building I had an overwhelming sense of peace. I felt like my spirit was saying, "Home at last!". Since that moment I knew there was no other place on earth where I would feel that peace and contentment as I would in the Mormon church.

How I live my faith

Right now I am the only member in my immediate family who is active. My husband and his family are Vietnamese and of the Buddhist faith. There are times when being the only member can be difficult, but when I put my faith in my Father in Heaven, He gives me the strength to keep going. I have learned to live by Christ's example of love. Through that love I have a deep and abiding respect for my husband's Buddhist faith. I have found that there are many similarities between our beliefs. I know that as I keep living the Gospel of Jesus Christ that everything will work out as the Lord sees fit for me and my family.
