Hi I'm Sarah VanWinkle

I'm a grew up in Arizona. I am now stationed in Idaho with my husband. I'm a proud Air Force wife and mother. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a great area where I met my gorgeous husband in the 7th grade. Although we dated other people throughout high school, I got to marry him in the Snowflake Temple shortly after he returned from his mission. He then joined the military when I was 5 month pregnant with our beautiful little girl. Sadly he was still in his tech school when my water broke, but thanks to technology he was still able to see her birth. My parents were amazing while he was gone, and I am so grateful for their support throughout my life. I am a big family girl, I love all of my siblings! I love being a wife, mother, sister and daughter! I enjoy outdoorsy stuff, sports, sewing, crafts, and love reading more about the gospel. I love being a "stay at home" mom.

Why I am a Mormon

Thanks to missionary work my parents were baptized a year after they were married. So I was blessed to be raised in the gospel. I grew up in a small town where I was surrounded by many strong Latter Day Saint families. I'm grateful everyday that I was able to have good examples around me to help me gain my own testimony of the gospel. In attending seminary I learned so much and knew then that living without the gospel in my life was not an option. I knew just how important it was, it's why we are here. I love knowing that nothing bad can ever come from keeping the commandments. Through the restoration of the gospel and the wonderful temples we have the opportunity to be with our families for eternity. I love knowing that I get to be with my sweet family for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the commandments and serving in the church. I have had the opportunity to serve with wonderful women in organizing events to strengthen each other to help to prepare each other for things we may face in the world we live in. I have come to LOVE visiting teaching. We as sisters get the chance to get to know specific sisters that we are assigned to and really take care of them. It's wonderful getting to know the sisters and having the opportunity to really get to know their needs and serve each other. Since I have moved away from all my family, I have been blessed to have my ward family to lean on and it's allowed me to appreciate the gospel even more. I also know that living our faith is not an easy task. Many people have many responsibilities. All of our church members who give up so much of their time to serve others are not paid. I do know that if we are serving others and fulfilling our duties we are doing the Lord's work. The last 3 months I have been able to serve with the children in our ward and have seen just how organized our church is. Everyone does their part to help strengthen one anothers family. I love my faith and it is a joy to live it. I strive daily to always read uplifting things to share with my husband, read scriptures together, fulfill my calling, and always remember to pray to my Heavenly Father in gratitude and whenever I need counsel. It is such a gift to be a mother, and I am so grateful to be able to have the gospel to raise her in.
