Hi I'm Monica

I'm a Mom and I love to act. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

About me, huh? In short, I am a widow and a mother of two. I like to act on stage or screen. Reading is a passion of mine and I read about 8 books a month...so fun! I love living in Colorado where we bike, hike and enjoy the outdoors. I am writing my first book about my husband's battle with cancer and the stuggle it is being a "new" widow.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me that this is the true church. I grew up in Utah but not as a member of a practicing family. I was baptised at 8 because that's what you do in Utah but we did not attend church. I did the exact opposite of what most kids do...I went to college and started attending church! I loved attending with others who knew the church was true and that following Christ was what we are supposed to do. Family is so important to me and knowing that I can live with my husband and children together forever has become even more important to me after my husband's passing. A temple marriage is a blessing I can not imagine living with out. I know without a shadow of a doubt that when we live the principles and ordinances of the gospel and strive to be like Jesus Christ in all we do we can live a life that is rich and fulfilling, and that life will end with the blessing of living with God and our families for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

Living as a Mormon is a way of life. I attend my three hour block of meetings on Sunday, with two of those hours teaching the 5 year olds. I take my children to thier activity night once a week during the week and we work on thier scouting and young women goals when ever we get a chance. I love to serve my community when ever I can. We attend our town clean up days, attend community events and volunteer in our local schools. I and trying to get up the nerve to go back to the hospital and volunteer there once a week, hopefully soon. I am assigned women who live close to me to visit once a month and share a gospel message with them. I belive that living as Christ would have us live involves service, so I try to serve where I am called, when I am called and even when I am not. If we all strive to serve one another the world will be the wonderful creation that it was born to be.
