Hi I'm Spencer

I grew up in the military. I'm a husband, father, a physician assistant, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My dad was a pilot in the Army, so I have had a unique opportunity to see different parts of the world, their cultures, and gain an appreciation for diversity and change. Relocating every few years had its challenges, but I wouldn't have changed it if I could; it was a great experience! No matter where we ended up, the church always provided a great foundation and source of strength for us. The majority of my youth was spent in Germany, Massachusetts, and Idaho. I have lived in Arizona since 2002, and that is when I met my wonderful wife. We have been happily married now for eight years and have two beautiful little ones; a boy and a girl. I recently finished P.A. school and I am specializing in Emergency Medicine.

Why I am a Mormon

Nothing has brought more happiness into my life than the gospel of Jesus Christ! It has shaped and influenced every aspect of my life, and it is what leads and guides my decisions, my desires, and my actions. I was raised in the church like so many others, but as I have grown up and become my own person, I have learned through personal experience that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me better than anybody else. I know that His greatest desire is that I am happy, and that I return to live with Him again. He has shown us the way through his son, Jesus Christ, and He leads His church through a living prophet today. My personal and family life have been so blessed as we have lived according to what we have been taught. In a day and age where there are so many things that distract us from what is most important, the church has taught me the importance, and the rewards, of living a simplified, balanced life. The prophet teaches us that the most important things in life almost always involve the people who are closest to us, and I know that's true. I want my greatest successes and victories in life to be within the walls of my own home as a husband and father, being the best I can be for my family, and strengthening them through gospel principles. My life revolves around my wife and kids, and as we continue to strengthen each other through church teachings, no challenge will come our way that we cannot handle.

How I live my faith

When I turned 19, I was given the opportunity to serve a mission for the church in Germany, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The people I came in contact with were a little confused that a young man at such an age would leave home and do this. I could have been pursuing a career or going to college, and yet I chose to set aside two years for the Lord and share the message of His restored gospel. While some say I put my life on hold during that time, I know that I grew more during those two years than any other period in my life, because I was serving others, and putting them first. I learned a valuable lesson then: "If I forget myself, I will find myself." I find that there is no greater way to get to know yourself, or become your BEST self, than through serving those around you. That is what Christ did, and I know that is what He would have us do today. I feel closest to my Heavenly Father when I am found serving others, praying to Him daily, spending quality time with my family, and at church on Sunday. I truly am happiest when I am doing the very best I can to LIVE my faith and help others.
