Hi I'm Miriam

I grew up in Tempe, Arizona. I've been a member all my life. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I live in Iowa and am the mother of 7 children and married to Tony! We just celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary. Our 4 sons have been on missions! One to Netherlands, one to Brazil, one to Cleveland, Ohio--spanish speaking, and one to Bulgaria! We have 3 children married, 4 grandchildren and 2 on the way. I love to read and scrapbook and travel! My greatest joy in life is my family. Everything I do is for them. I am so grateful that I'm a mother and have the opportunity to share my life with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. It seems like I have always known that the church was true. It has brought me a tremendous amount of peace and security. I know who I am, I know why I'm on earth and I know where I'm going. The commandments of the gospel bring me safety and peace and happiness and I know that if I follow God's plan for me and if I'm obedient, then I will be able to return to my Heavenly Father to live with Him and my family someday. I recently lost my father. It has been very hard, but because of my knowledge of the gospel and that families can be forever, it has brought me great peace.

How I live my faith

Right now I get to teach the youth every morning in my home! It's called early-morning seminary. One year we learn about the Book of Mormon, another year about the Doctrine and Covenants and Church History, another year about the Old Testament and another year about the New Testament. This year we are learning about the Old Testament. 6 youth come to my house every morning at 6:00 in the morning. We learn about stories in the Old Testament and learn about obedience to the laws of the gospel. It strengthens our testimony each and every day that if we can avoid evil and temptation, we can live with our Heavenly Father someday. The youth are very strong and it is a pleasure and a joy teaching these teenagers. They sacrifice a lot to come to my home every morning and in turn I receive a lot of joy and satisfaction teaching them!
