Hi I'm John

I answered the missionaries invitation to seek and find. I am from Texas, 43 and single. My life has changed! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a physically active 43 year old male. I am single, which is at times difficult to reconcile; for we know that families are necessary in God's eternal plan. While I am different in that aspect from many of the other men in my church; I find safety within the knowledge that comes by following God's command. I am ultimately fulfilling God's purpose for me. I am involved with and enjoy being part of the local community. I volunteer with charitable organizations and enjoy the chance to be around other people. I enjoy being in the outdoors, I love to camp, walk my dogs, and find hidden treasures. I have 4 dogs and find such joy in being their master. I love life and the opportunities that we have living in a great free nation.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church at the age of 19. I had been lost, but found direction with the help of the full time Elders. I wanted to feel the joy that they brought as a constant in my life. I was baptized, and given a new life. I served a mission at 20 in Mexico. Looking back over the 23 years that have followed since my association with the church, I can testify that joy and happiness come through following our Savior. Security and stability are found within the boundaries our Father in Heaven has set for us. Mental, physical, emotional and spiritual balance bring me harmony and confidence in the things of God. I am grateful to know that my purpose on earth is no chance happening, but a fulfillment of my eternal salvation. The weaknesses I have are worth improving; the strengths that I have a worth sharing. I find the community in which I share my Sundays a haven for healing and look forward to renewing my promises with God through the Sacrament. I am so grateful that God has given us the institution to direct and assist us in growing ever closer with our Savior and Father in Heaven through the direction and guidance of the Holy Ghost. I am ever grateful for the knowledge of a restored Church, and for the knowledge that the Heavens are open and direction is given for me, and the rest of God's children.

How I live my faith

I find strength in the service opportunities that church activity gives. I have been involved with the youth program, which gave much more to me than I could be accountable for giving. The examples of the young men and women within the church has been a powerful influence for me. I live my faith by sharing my belief and dependancy on God in daily conversation. My prayers are heard and answered, and I share these experiences openly. I am made whole through the healing power of our Savior and my brother Jesus Christ. Practicing my faith allows me to draw closer to those I love, for this practice has made me a better man.
