Hi I'm Lynette

I am a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. I love the beautiful outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a farm girl now living in the city. I love to get outdoors and enjoy God's creations. Growing up, I learned to grow things and to make do with what we had. Today I enjoy gardening, and I love to try to figure out how and why things work. I spent 25 years being a full-time stay-at-home-mom and feel blessed to have had that opportunity. My husband and I will be empty-nesters too soon. My family is my greatest joy in life. I love being a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and a grandmother. In recent years, I have had the opportunity to work as an assistant to a very talented seamstress making custom window coverings. I love to see the beautiful results.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of Mormons. My heritage includes faithful pioneers who joined the church in England and endured many hardships as they came to America and eventually settled in the West. My wonderful parents taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and by example. I always believed the things they taught me, but it was not until I went away to college that I had to decide for myself what I really believed. As I searched my soul, I realized that I truly did have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that our Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers, and that they have provided a way for each of us to return to live with them. My testimony continues to grow stronger and stronger as I live the gospel teachings. I feel richly blessed to know my purpose here on Earth.

How I live my faith

Over the years I have had many opportunities to teach the children of the church and also to teach and organize classes and programs for the women of our church. Currently, I have the responsibility to help teach members of our congregation how to live providently. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches principles of self-reliance and offers so many great resources to help individuals and families be spiritually and temporally prepared for whatever the future may hold. I am happy to be able to help teach such important principles and know that we can find peace if we are prepared for whatever comes our way.
