Hi I'm Deken

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of six children, born and raised in Utah currently located in Denver, CO with my wife and two children. I enjoy time with my family, playing sports, and enjoying the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon, because I believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth today in its fullness through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in the spring of 1820, and through Joseph Smith Jesus Christ was able to restore important truths, authority, and saving principles. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is a record of Gods people here on the American continent spanning from 600 B.C. to 500 A.D. It is a true account of Gods people, where prophets exhort to have faith, repent, and follow the promptings of the spirit. I love reading the Book of Mormon and I know this book is true by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible and the Book of Mormon together testify Jesus is the Christ and that he lives, and only through him can we be saved. Jesus Christ suffered in Gethsemane, and died on the Cross; overcoming two obstacles we couldn’t overcome ourselves, physical death, and sin. Because Jesus suffered and died, we can all be resurrected with perfect physical bodies. And as long as we have faith in Jesus Christ, repent of our sins, we can be baptized by immersion, and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I know that God lives and he loves me as his son. Even though I make mistakes, and struggle at times the gospel of Jesus Christ is there to lead me back to him. The Church of Jesus Christ is the only true and living church upon the face of the earth. It is lead and directed by Jesus Christ himself, with a chosen prophet Thomas S. Monson, and twelve Apostles. Through Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ was able to restore his authority the Melchizedek Priesthood in its fullness. I leave this my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I like to think I live my faith by example. As it states in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
