Hi I'm Jaclyn.

I married my best friend. I'm a convert, a music educator and a vegan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a country girl at heart but have slowly adapted to city life. I love, love, love to learn new things, especially about nutrition and natural birthing. My husband and I decided to become vegan a few years ago (for the awesome health benefits) and we've never turned back. My bookshelves continue to grow with new recipe books. I love to cook healthy food for my family. Being a wife and a mother brings more joy to my life than I ever thought was possible. I am a tom boy that doesn't wear makeup or take more than three minutes to do my hair. I'm frugal and love to shop at thrift stores. Music plays a big role in all aspects of my life. I use it to teach others, to cheer me up, to inspire me to be more like the Savior, to dance around my house like a five year old and more. I'm a kid at heart that loves to have fun. My definition of fun is spending time with my family and friends, playing board/card games, watching movies, going outside to enjoy nature among other things. I believe that something as small as a smile or a wink can change someone's life. My soon-to-be husband stole my heart when he winked at me when I least expected it. I have been on cloud nine ever since.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was a young girl I always felt there was something spiritually missing from my life. It was then that I began a quest to find... something... of a spiritual nature. I didn't know what it was but I knew that when I would find it, I would know. Fast forward a decade... at this time I was in college when I met my first Mormon. I didn't even know Mormons existed. Before becoming good friends, I decided to find out about this "Mormon stuff" and that's when I came across www.mormon.org. I literally gasped when I started reading the website. My instant thought was 'I think I'm supposed to be a Mormon!' I was so excited!!! It was then that I knew I had found what I had been searching for for ten years. Despite the painful oppositions I faced, I knew with every ounce of my being that this was the right decision for me. I was soon baptized as a Latter-Day Saint. Since then, I have never regretted my decision to become a member of this Church. I have learned how to better communicate with my Heavenly Father (God) and receive personal answers to my prayers. I have developed a greater and deeper love for the Savior and what He has done for us. I am a Mormon because it makes me a better person and instills in me the desire to be like the Savior at all times. I am a Mormon because I am spiritually satisfied. The temple allows me to slow down in this fast-paced world and focus on God and the Savior. I have been truly blessed and feel God's love more now than I ever have before. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I live by faith in many ways. I try to be more like the Savior in my thoughts and actions. When I fail, I have faith in Christ's Atonement by repenting of my sins, and committing to try harder to be more like Him. I know now there is no need to hold on to my past sins because the Savior gave us His Perfect Sacrifice that washes them all away when we repent. I read daily from the scriptures, pray several times throughout the day, and attend Church on Sundays. I serve in my community by visiting women every month to see how they are doing. I try to have charity toward my fellow man and especially toward my little family. I am far from perfect but I know God and the Savior love me unconditionally anyways.
