Hi I'm Leonard

I was raised on a farm in Montana, love outdoor adventures, am a technology geek, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised on a small farm in rural Montana. I have been married for 15 years to an amazing woman and have 3 great kids. When I am not spending my time as a data storage engineer/consultant; I enjoy rock climbing, ultra cycling, crossfit, backpacking, shooting guns, blogging, video editing, and getting in over my head.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Jesus Christ truly lived and that He established his Gospel and church on the earth. I believe that our Heavenly Father truly loves and cares for me individually, and wants to help me in all aspects of my life...as a father would. He has answered my prayers many times and I have felt the peaceful promptings of His Holy Spirit guide my life. I have read the Bible and Book of Mormon, have sincerely prayed to know that they are true, and have felt the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) confirm to me that they are. I do my best to live by the principles of the gospel and have found that as I do, the Lord leads and guides me. Knowing where I came from, why I am here on this earth, and where I am going after this life brings great perspective to every day challenges and the hard questions we all face.

How I live my faith

There is no paid clergy in the Mormon church. We are all "called to server" in many different ways...but we are all asked to do something. I have enjoyed a lot of years working with the 12-18 year old young men. I have have spent many hours and weekends camping, running after school activities, teaching gospel classes on Sunday, and assisting with advancement through the Boy Scouts of America. It has been a great source of fulfillment and joy in my life and I consider many of these young men as my own family. I know the difference that good men made in my life as a teenager and hope to be that example to my children as well as others.
