Hi I'm Joe

I am a native to Colorado, and work as a Software Test Engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was young I enjoyed using computers that my family had. Also, my father worked as a test engineer, and knowing that he worked with computers made me curious about what he did. I also really enjoyed playing computer games. Because of that I decided to take any computer classes in school that were available. On the side I enjoyed learning programming and wrote simple c++ and Java programs. Because of that, I decided to study Computer Science in college. My favorite topic was Software Engineering, because it really showed me how to write good code that can easily be modified in different situations by using different design patterns. I really love my job as a Software Test Engineer and enjoy putting my skills to good use. I also served a mission for the church in southern Peru, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in their native language, Spanish. Although I had studied Spanish in High School, being able to learn it better by actually using it helped me to develop a greater love for Spanish. While I was studying in college, I was introduced to a friend from Chile whom I later married in 2008. In 2011 we had our first child. I am happy with our new family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon home with loving parents and many brothers and sisters. Although I went to church my whole life, I didn't always have a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. However, as I learned more and more about the gospel of Jesus Christ growing up, I felt that these teachings were good and correct. Also, I have had many spiritual experiences which have strengthened my Faith and understanding of His gospel. When I sincerely seek God in prayer sometimes I feel like I truly am having a conversation with Him. Notwithstanding my imperfections, I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ really do love me, and guide me in important life decisions.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by following the teachings of Jesus Christ, and trying to emulate Him. I do my best to keep His commandments, to love God, and to love all of those whom I come in contact with. Specifically I participate in my local ward. I am the secretary of one of our local organizations, and help in the administrative tasks that need to be done. I also visit some of the families in the ward to see how they are doing, and to help them out wherever necessary.
