Hi I'm Brad

I love life! I love my family! I am an eye doctor. I enjoy fly fishing and I have a passion for Boy Scouting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Wyoming and grew up in Arizona. I have been helping people with their eye problems for over twenty-five years. My profession has brought me great joy. Sight is a precious gift! I have been a Scoutmaster in two different Scout Troops. There is something very exciting about helping a boy become a real man - a man of true character. At the same time I have learned so much from the boys. I'll never forget the words in one boy's prayer before we left on a snow campout. He said,"Please help us survive the night". I have always loved God's creations. I love to get out there and hike, camp and ride a mountain bike. Looking out into the great expance of space thrills me. Then throw in a stream and fly rod and that takes on another level of fun. My greatest joy is my wife and all my family. Loving and serving them brings a feeling to my heart that is real joy - joy at its fullest. Being a grandpa to eight, almost nine grandchildren is a wonderful thing. Whether its playing games, eating, talking, traveling, attending church or working together I want to be a part of it. Sometimes it is laughing together. Other times it is crying together.

Why I am a Mormon

My wonderful parents taught me by example what I needed to do to be a good christian. In my teen years I needed to know for myself if all that they had taught me was really true. I read and studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I prayed everyday as I studied to know whether or not what I was reading was true. A loving Father in Heaven answered my prayers with a peace, comfort and reasurance that is as real as life itself. The most important thing I have learned in all my studies is that Christ is the Savior of the world. I am not perfect but He is. And because He is, He paid a price for my sins and imperfections. He has bought me with a price and I am forever indebted to him and his Father who sent him. That is why I love life! I try to live everyday with that truth in my mind. It gives me hope and direction. I know where I came from. I know why I'm here. And I know where I am going when I depart this life. I have personal prayer and living prophets who teach me and give me direction for the here and now. I can honestly say that I know these things are true.

How I live my faith

I have many opportunities to serve in my community and church. I have been involved in many Scouting for Food drives. We have put up flags along the highway for the city on holidays. We have put on many flag ceremonies at community events. We have cleaned yards and roadways, roofed houses and given service to widows and others. I find it rewarding to participate in my company's free sight days. We give much needed eyecare to the indigent. We also travel to Mexico and work with clubs there to provide glasses and eye surgery. I have the privilege of visiting two families from our congregation each month. I try my best to be aware of their needs and teach them. They in turn serve me and teach me. Numerous other callings in my church have afforded me the opportinity to serve youth and adults alike. In a word, SERVICE to my community, my church, my family and ultimately my God have absolutely changed my life for the better.
