Hi I'm Lisa

I was born in Canada. I'm a mom, a teacher and a runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom, a teacher, a musician, and a runner. Last year, I finally got brave enough to train for and compete in a half marathon. What a sense of accomplishment. This year, pushing both of my children in a jogging stroller, I ran every day all summer and competed in a 5K fun run. Although not quite the same experience as the half-marathon, it was a lot of fun... and finishing the race with my kids was the best.

Why I am a Mormon

No matter what goes on in my busy life, there are a few things that remain constant: what I do and why I do it. I know that there is a purpose to what I do and it gives me the strength and motivation to move forward every day. No matter how insignificant my efforts and actions may seem, being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints puts my life into perspective for me. I recognize that what I do is important, that my choices have consequence and the choices I make effect more that just me.

How I live my faith

I have been able to do many different things at church. I have taught the youth, the women, played the piano and led the music. Currently I teach a group of six-year old children. I love being able to contribute to the meetings each week. One of my favorite assignments is speaking in church to the congregation. When asked to do so, I am given a topic to study. I love spending the next few weeks researching that topic in the scriptures and preparing for the assignment. It's a great opportunity to feel a part of what is going on as well as increase my knowledge of the teachings of Christ.
