Hi I'm Susan

I love meeting new people and trying new things. I'm always ready for the next adventure. Oh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music! At any given time you may come into my home and I'll have a random instrument out trying to play. I currently own a piano, guitar, violin, ukelele and a didgeridoo. Oh and I love to sing. From my vast display of instruments you can probably tell I've been overseas. My family moved many places growing up. In addition to living in the USA I have also lived in Germany and Australia. I love traveling and I love learning about cultures. I'm adventurous and love trying new things. I love meeting new people and other would describe me as bubbly and friendly. I have tons of friends and constantly feel surrounded by people who love me. I am the oldest of five kids and have five nephews. I am employed full time and go to school at night. I love learning. I love kids! I'm currently single, but I take the time to serve others by watching their children. I love service.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in the church, my testimony of Jesus Christ did not come until after I graduated high school. Due bad decisions and a lack of faith on my part I spent many years lost in the world and questioning the beliefs I had been taught since birth. Something miraculous happened after I graduated from high school. My family moved to Colorado and I got a job at a local fast food restaurant. The owner of the restaurant was also a Mormon, but his faith had been failing just a bit. He said he hired me because I was wearing a CTR Ring (it stand for Choose the Right). I wore the ring for years hoping it would help me make better decisions. Before I knew it he was asking me questions I didn't know the answers to. I didn't want to disappoint the boss, so I'd rush home and study so I knew the answers. Before I knew it I was praying and asking God to know if the church was really true. It's no surprise that the answer was yes. I knew without a shadow of doubt that the church was true. From that point forward I have rarely looked back. I am still friends with that boss. His daughter is one my dearest friends in the whole world. I wonder where my life would be had he not taken a chance on a teenage girl with a CTR Ring.

How I live my faith

Sometimes people ask me where I fit in as a single member of our church. Particularly in a church that teaches about families. I love the teachings on the family and love seeing the families at church each week. I'm particularly grateful for the family I sit with every week. I get to help with the children and feel apart of their family. I'm single, but never alone. Well, for years I had a chance to work with the younger children at church ages 18 months-12 years old. During my adult years I've spent almost 10 years working with children.
