Hi I'm Curtis

I live in Arizona. I like to fix things. I know Jesus is my Savior and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of two children and have been married for 34 years. My family brings me the greatest happiness as I know it is part of God's plan for me. It also allows me the opportunity to apply Christlike behaviors towards my family as well as call on Christ's forgiveness when I fall short in my thoughts and actions. I was a cabinetmaker for many years and love working with wood and metal. My health deteriorated because of lung problems and I had to give up my shop which has been hard emotionally as well as financially. The loving support of my wife and children has helped so much. There are still so many joys in life. I am strengthened by seeing other peoples' goodness.

Why I am a Mormon

I have received a witness that the Bible and Book of Mormon are books of scripture that teach us of God and Jesus Christ. They also give us guidance in how to live our lives and how to follow our Savior's example. The church helps me learn and understand these things more fully and gives me opportunities to serve too. It is a great strength to my family relationships and gives me hope of an eternity with my family as part of God's family.

How I live my faith

I try to help others. I try to forgive others and not to be judgmental. I do my best to avoid bad influences and behaviors and help others to do the same. It is not easy to always do what is right, it takes constant effort and repentance when I fall short. I know Christ will forgive my sins and strengthen me to do better and that brings me joy. The more I follow him the happier I am and the better I get along with my family and mankind. I am able to gain new insights to Christ's teachings and how to apply them as I interact with other church members in classes and service opportunities. I can see examples to follow and ways that I can help others more effectively as I try to bring all to Christ. Knowing we have a Prophet and Apostles to guide us is a big help too.
