Hi I'm E'lan

I was born in Michigan, grew up in Texas and now live in Arizona. I'm an Manager for a construction company. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a family man. I have a wonderful wife and three amazing children. I am working on my Master's degree in Public Administration. I hope to in the near future work in City Management or Economic Development. I am an avid Detroit Redwings fan. GO WINGS! I love to work with my hands and play outdoors with my family. My future goals are to be able to serve missions with my wife. We hope to be able to go to undeveloped countries and help the people in whatever manner possible. My greatest joy in life comes from my family and from service. If I can leave a legacy for my children it would be that they would spend their life in the service of their fellow men.

Why I am a Mormon

From my childhood I have had a great yearning to return "home". As a child I didn't really understand what that deeprooted feeling meant. As I grew older I was constantly searching for meaning in my life. As a teenager (18 or so) I began attending various church services - seeking answers. When I was 21 I had the opportunity to be taught by two young men who were missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They taught me about God and Jesus Christ and challenged me to pray to know that they were real. They taught me about Heaven and the eternal nature of families and the relationships that are formed here and challenged me to pray and receive confirmation that what they taught me was true. They taught me about Baptism, the saving ordinances of the gospel and priesthood authority and challenged me to pray to know whether or not I needed to be baptized. I prayed about these principles and came to know through the confirmation of the Holy Ghost that what they taught me was true. They challenged me to live the priciples that they taught me and promised me that as I did so my life would be enriched and I would find greater joy. I did so and they were right. I am a Mormon because I have come to know through prayer and action that God is real and Jesus Christ is indeed our Savior, that they love us and have prepared a way for us to return to live with them in Heaven and that our families can be together in the eternities.

How I live my faith

I serve as a Ward Missionary for our congregation. As a ward missionary I join the missionaries in teaching those who are interested in learning about Jesus Christ. I also serve as a home teacher. As home teachers we visit with other members of our ward (congregation) and share spiritual messages about Jesus Christ and ensure that the family's needs are being met. One of my favorite scritpures teaches that "as we are in the service of our fellow beings we are only in the service of our God". I believe that with all my heart. I know that God loves all his children and he desires that we care for each other and serve each other. Charity never faileth!

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?
