Hi I'm Janae

I am married to a chemist and I am a mother of two beautiful boys who are helping me get over my control issues. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I consider Arizona my home. I don't handle the heat well, but after living away for a while, I would take the Arizona heat over the cold winters in the midwest. My husband is finishing school while I am a stay-at-home mom. We are kind of heading into the transitional stage between school and career. We have two boys who make life even more interesting. I dealt with postpartum depression after my second son was born, and I am still trying to learn how to deal with it and life with 2 kids. I enjoy sci-fi and fantasy books, puzzle games, spending time with my family and cake decorating.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so I have no amazing conversion story. However, I do feel the influence of Jesus Christ and his spirit in my life. Living by the teachings and standards of the church brings order, balance, and peace to my life. I know that, when I am dealing with hard times, I have somewhere and someone to turn to. I admit that I have had times when I am already so far down that it is hard to remember that, but I still know in my heart that I am not completely alone. I know that we can be together for the eternities and that we are all members of our Heavenly Father's family, no matter what walk of life we may be in.

How I live my faith

I do not currently have a specific job, or calling, in the church. My family is between places right now, but I do attend church with my parents and help out when I am needed. My mother and I recently taught a class to a group of women on being a grandmother (from the perspective of a mother and a grandmother). It reminded me a lot of what my mom does for me and my children. I also helped out with a cake decorating class for some teenage girls in the last few weeks. I have held callings before teaching children, playing the piano, and planning & leading the music. For right now, I just try to be friendly and smile at people I meet, whether at church or not. I am also trying to teach my own children how to be good people and do the things that they learn about in church.
