Hi I'm Mike

I have lived most my life in Arizona. I have been building custom homes in Arizona for over 25 years and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have two beautiful daughters and two wonderful sons. My oldest daughter just go married this year in the Temple and My next oldest son just submitted his papers to serve a full time mission for the church. My other son and daughter are doing great as they strive to live upstanding lives in this crazy world we live in. I have been married for 22 years to the loveliest women I know. Not all off those years have been perfect but the more I say I'm sorry and ask for forgiveness the better my marriage becomes. I have been in the custom home building industry for over 25 years and have seen some ups and downs through that time with changes in the economy but nothing like I've seen it in the last few years. Going through the challenging economic times has taught me some valuable lessons on life including patience, humility, and most of all how to be thankful for the simple and wonderful blessings I have been blessed with in my life. Some of my hobbies are Mountain and Road biking, riding quads at the dunes, and tennis.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a long line of Mormon heritage in my family dating back to the Pioneers. I am a Mormon because I was born into a Mormon family, however just like anyone in the church I had to come to know the church was true on my own. I grew up in a great family of 5 kids with a mother and father that loved and supported us. I certainly wasn't a perfect youth growing up but never did anything to seriously wrong. I had two brothers that served missions before me so when I turned 19 I just knew I would go and serve a mission for the church. When I left on my mission I believed and had faith the church was true but didn't know it for sure. The answer to my prayers about the truthfulness of the church and the Book of Mormon happened in the first few months of my mission. On my mission I was bearing my testimony to individuals and letting them know I believed the church was true but wanted to be able to let them know I knew that it was true. My prayers were answered on a night that I'll never forget. My prayers were answered as I knelt by my bed in a run down double wide trailer that my companion and I lived in at that area of my mission. The message came loud and clear however it was in the form of a still small voice through the spirit of the Holy Ghost whispering to me that what I was teaching was the truth, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet who translated the Book of Mormon, and that the Book of Mormon was true.

How I live my faith

Since I have been a member all my life I have had the opportunity to participate in many different callings and activities in the church. I have always felt and known that whatever the church has asked of me to help with that I would say yes as long as I was able to fulfill the task. I have served with the the youth and have had opportunities to go on many campouts with them, including two pioneer treks where the youth and adults re-enacted what some of the early pioneers went through as they pulled hand carts across the United States. I have taught Sunday School, worked with the 11 year old scouts, been a cub master, worked as a leader in the adult mens group and currently serve as a councilor to the Bishop who is over our congregation of around 375 people. I love serving in the church and serving individuals and families. Their are very few things that bring as much joy in my life as does service.
