Hi I'm Matt

I was born in Canada. I've always been in love with sports, reading great fiction, and art - draw draw draw. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost, I'm a husband, and I've been married to my sweetheart for nearly 15 years. Secondly, and almost as important as the first, I'm a father of two great kids who I'm so happy to have in my life. My wife and kids provide so much fulfillment for me. At the age of 19 I was so fortunate to serve as a missionary for two years on the beautiful island of Jamaica. Everyday I fondly remember some experience or moment that truly changed my life for the better (and hopefully other peoples lives as well). I attended university at Brigham Young University in Utah where I studied Computer Art and Animation. And now, after many years of shooting for the stars with my career, I have found myself working as a Computer Animator at one of the finest feature animation studios in California. I am a lover of good books, preferably ones that allow me to go to different worlds (or alternate versions of ours), and I hope someday to make a go at writing some of those books that I so love to read. Having a father who played every sport under the sun has nurtured in me a love of sports and athletics, and my current passion is basketball (and some mixed martial arts as well).

Why I am a Mormon

One of the most important things to me is finding peace and joy in this life. I'm a Mormon because the answers to my questions regarding how to find the peace I seek are found within the true gospel that this church offers. I have had numerous experiences in my life that have shown me, with much clarity, that the fulness of Jesus Christ's gospel in the world today is only found within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon clearly act together to give me a comprehensive account and testament of the Savior's mission and role in Heavenly Father's plan for all His children. And I could not be more grateful for the knowledge that I have been blessed with regarding the restoration of such truths and what they mean for all of us, Mormons and non-Mormons alike.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying with my children. I live my faith by letting my conduct and actions teach my family, friends, and co-workers what I truly believe. I live my faith by not being bashful about talking about what I know to be true to those around me, whether they are neighbors or co-workers. I'm not perfect, I would never pretend to be so, but I do my best to live my faith by treating others as brothers and sisters; with respect and honesty. I live my faith by serving in various ways in the community in which I live, and serving within my church community as well. There are always opportunities to serve, and I try to take advantage of them, especially considering that Christ's life was comprised of always serving those around Him. It could be helping a friend move, it could be landscaping a handicapped neighbor's yard, it could be teaching boy scouts how to properly pack for a camp. Service to those around me is ever important. And lastly, I live my faith by remembering my Savior, and keeping a prayer of thanks in my heart for His example, His teaching, and most importantly His atoning sacrifice for me and all my brothers and sisters here on Earth.
