Hi I'm Angie

I am a single, divorced mom going back to school to become a nurse. I love being a mom to my 2 little boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am first and foremost a mom. I have 2 young boys that I absolutely love to be with. It is very difficult being a single mom and going to school though. I am recently divorced and am going back to school to get a degree in nursing. I have previously gotten a degree in Early Childhood Education but am now loving the idea of being a nurse. When I was a teenager I lived in Paris, France. I love to travel. I love to see new and beautiful things. I love to garden and love to plant flowers wherever I can. I love to read, cross-stitch, play the piano, listen to music, sometimes quite loudly, be with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, aka the Mormon church. I really came to know and understand what I believed when I was a teenager. I moved across the world to Paris, France and was surrounded by people who did not believe what I did. As a typical teenager I simply wanted to fit in. Through the help of seminary, young womens, daily scripture study and prayer, I truly came to know what I believe. When I was able to travel to Israel with my seminary class when I was 16, to walk where Jesus walked, to see where he performed his miracles, to see where he taught his gospel, that sealed the deal. I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I am a daughter of God and my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me better than I know myself. He wants me to be happy and I believe that the best way to be happy is through living the principles of the gospel. Recently I went through a divorce. My husband, previously a strong Mormon, became very angry and antagonistic towards the church. I was forced to make a decision and to discover who I am and what I believe in. I had to decide whether my belief in my Heavenly Father and in His restored gospel is worth sacrificing in order to make a marriage work. I had to decide whether God came first in my life or not. Through MANY strong spiritual experiences received through prayer, priesthood blessings, visits to the LDS temple, reading the scriptures, etc I came to know, once again, that I am a daughter of God. He loves me. Jesus Christ suffered not only for my sins, but for my sorrows too. He understands all that I am and all that I have gone through. And He suffered all of this because he loves me. I know that we have a modern day prophet, President Thomas S Monson, who leads the church on this earth. I believe that God knows what is best for me and for my sons and that is to follow Him.

How I live my faith

I live and practice my faith every day. Every day I pray with my 2 young sons and read from the Book of Mormon as a family. I have personal prayers every day to my Heavenly Father. In my ward I currently participate in lead and am involved in choosing appropriate and uplifting music for our women's meeting that meets every Sunday. In the past I worked with teenage girls, teaching them principles of the gospel, how to love others, how to serve others and how to live a Christ-like life in all attributes. I would teach them every Sunday in a meeting that is just for the teenage girls.
