Hi I'm Jonathan

I am a Husband and a Father. I work for a Labor Union. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my beautiful wife for six years and we have a 5 year old boy and a 4 year old girl. My family and I have created a little farm at our home. We have 1 Black Lab, 25 chickens, and 2 turkeys. We like to spend our time outdoors camping and fishing. I was working on my masters degree in Social Work at A.S.U but my son was born with a rare lung condition and had to have his right lung removed, so I quit school and went to work full time to support my family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in high school I just followed the crowed and really didn't give too much thought to religion. One night in the summer of my junior year my friends and I were hanging out and a group of guys came up and held us hostage. One of my friends was shot and all most died. The news did an article on him and the first thing he said was, "I forgive who ever did this to me". Even though I grew up around the Mormon church i decided that there had to be more to life, I decided that I would spend the rest of the summer reading The Book of Mormon. When I finished reading The Book of Mormon I got on my knees and prayed to our Heavenly Father if this book was true and I asked for our Savior Jesus Christ to be in my life. After I was done praying I felt over joyed and I felt our Saviors love and I also knew from that minute on that The Book of Mormon is true. I decided to follow the Lords instruction in the New Testament and follow him. I know that if you do read The Book of Mormon and ask our Savior if it is true he will let you know through the Holy Spirit that it is in fact true. I know that this church is the only true church on the earth today. I know that the Lord has a Prophet on the earth today to lead and guide us.

How I live my faith

I am in charge of the young men in my area. I also am involved in the scouting program. I love teaching the young men the importance of following in our Saviors footsteps. It is also my responsibility to visit some of the sick and elderly members that cant make it to church. It seems like a lot of work sometimes, but you can feel the Lords love when your helping do his work.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Yes, Mormons speak about Joseph Smith a lot. We honor him because he was the Lords instrument in restoring the Lords (Jesus Christ's) church back on the earth. Through Joseph the Lord revealed many beautiful truths such as eternal families. We honor Joseph Smith like Catholics honor the Pope or how people honor the founding Fathers of the United States. Show more Show less
