Hi I'm Marlene

I'm a hospice social worker and counselor. I'm a Mormon and I love life!

About Me

I am 57 years old—and happy to be alive! My husband and I have been married 35 years. We have 5 children and 11 grandchildren. I grew up in a large family. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work. I enjoy gardening, flowers, nature, handwork, sewing, calligraphy, fine art, music, singing, reading, talking to people and finding a “good deal”. Some folks might think it odd—but I also enjoy cleaning. I love the outdoors, hiking and staying active. I enjoy camping but now find in my middle years that I really appreciate the comfort and convenience of indoor plumbing.

Why I am a Mormon

I have felt the Spirit witness to me as I have studied the scriptures, prayed and even while singing the beautiful songs of the gospel. I love the doctrine as taught from the scriptures and from our living prophets. I am grateful for the saving ordinances. I love the teaching of the Plan of Salvation and feel great hope and reassurance in knowing this to be our Heavenly Father’s great plan for us.

How I live my faith

The beautiful truths of the gospel frame my life and the decisions I make. I believe it is because of the gospel that I am who I am today. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and try to do as He would do. I love attending church on the Sabbath with those who share my faith and feel strengthened and edified by association. I love going to the temple. I am honest in all my dealings. There is a hymn that we sing that says “because I have been given much I too must give”—and so it is for me—I too must give.
