Hi I'm Jon
I'm an engineer, a backpacker, biker, runner, avid movie buff, and a newlywed 30-something. I'm also a Mormon.
About Me
I love to do pretty much any outdoor recreation in the mountains: hiking, biking, camping, skiing, snowshoeing, fishing, you name it. I'm an engineer and a 30-something newlywed. It took me awhile to find the right girl but she was worth the wait!
Why I am a Mormon
My faith in Christ gives me hope in this life and in the life to come. It gives me not just a sense of purpose, but an actual reason for why I'm here and what I should be about while I'm here. Because of Christ's teachings, I know that through His atonement I can be with Him, and with my family again in the next life if I have faith and follow Him.
How I live my faith
I serve in my church as an assistant Varsity Scout leader and Sunday school teacher. I enjoy the opportunity to work with the young men and it gives me extra motivation to be my best self because I can strongly influence their lives, for good or bad. I also like preparing my lessons for Sunday. It's always a challenge to find ways to relate gospel principles to their lives and to teach in a way that they will be receptive to.
