Hi I'm Marisa

I live in Arizona. I have been in six musicals. I'm teaching myself to play guitar and I write my own songs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Considering my life hasn't been very long, I don't have much to say about myself. I have three brothers and two sisters. My life long dream is to become an author, a Broadway star, or famous in any other way. At this point, I'm thinking thats not gonna happen.... other than the author part :) I love creative writing, especially stories and songs. I love to sing and act and I LOVE musical theater.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both highly active in the Church. My Dad's parents were, also, but my Mom's mother married a Catholic and was never very active after that (don't get me wrong, they are great people, and I love them). I think that may have strengthened her testimony greatly. At times I doubt the strength of my own testimony, having grown up in the church and being told since infancy that this church is true. But then I think of experiences like EFY and Girls Camp, and I think to myself, my parents aren't there to lean my testimony on. I realize when I'm away from them, that I truly do believe. The thing that most strengthens my testimony is the music I listen to. I've recently discovered a song called "He Knows Me Better." This song has made me realize, I am a daughter of God and I know that he has a plan for me, my family, and all of his children, and he will not forsake any of us. I used to think I needed this big, wow moment to suddenly know that the church is true, but what I've come to realize is, I already know.

How I live my faith

I go to Seminary every day. Seminary is a no credit class that you are allowed to take in high school. You go to the church for an hour and learn gospel lessons taken directly from the scriptures. I've only been in the class for a short while, and it's already impacting my life for the better. Along with this class, I participate in class activities with my Youth Group every Wednesday evening. I go with my family to feed the homeless once a month.
