Hi I'm Laura

I am a mother of two. I live in Oregon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a mother. It's not something I always wanted to do but has been the greatest thing I have ever done. I love all different kinds of music. I am trying to develop some new hobbies so I am picking up photography and enjoying it immensely. I also would like to be able to sew well. That is my newest hobby. I love baking but it seems like too much work with two active little boys, so I guess that will have to wait :) I served a mission in Denmark about 7 years ago.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church. I have faithful parents who spent countless hours teaching my siblings and me about the church, the Book of Mormon, and Jesus Christ. They gave me a wonderful foundation to build on. As I have grown, I have learned the necessity of knowing what I believe and why I believe it. I know that this church has been restored in our day through Joseph Smith. I know that revelation is on the earth today and that we have a living prophet. I know that the Book of Mormon is scripture given to us by our Heavenly Father to help us in our day. I know that the Savior Jesus Christ suffered in Gethsemane, died on the cross, and was resurrected. I could never know all that I know and not act. I am a Mormon because I know all of these things. I think that the most significant reason that I live by my faith is my family. They mean everything to me and there is nothing I desire more than to be with them for all eternity. They inspire me to be a better person so that I am worthy to return, with them, to my Heavenly Father. I want to live my faith so that my children can not just hear but KNOW what I believe.

How I live my faith

It is important for me to be actively involved in my ward. I am not very outgoing but by serving others, it helps me to make friends and stay strong in the church. I am blessed to be able to work with the children in our Primary. I love working with the children. Their testimonies strengthen mine every Sunday. Their faith and innocence are overwhelming. I also have the opportunity to be a visiting teacher. My friend and I have some great women that we get to visit every month and it is certainly a blessing. I feel I learn much more than I teach
