Hi I'm Coreen

I've lived in Europe twice but now I GET TO live in sunny Colorado, and I GET TO BE a wife and mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Coreen, a wife and also mother of 1 daughter and 3 sons. My favorite way to spend time is being with my family whether it be skiing, hiking, playing games or having lively discussions. When I can't be with my family I enjoy being with friends, collecting souvenirs from my travels, scrapbooking, blogging and organizing things. Having an adventuresome husband has given our family the chance to travel to many European countries with his international jobs. We have learned to appreciate so many different cultures and beautiful lands. One thing that has been consistent in our living abroad is finding other Mormons at LDS church meetings that hold true to the same values. Having friends throughout the world is a wonderful gift. I am grateful for the perspective I have that family and friends are what bring us true joy and happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

My life is full of joy and hope. I know I have this joy and hope because of my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the Mormon faith. As a parent raising my family I realize how important having faith in God helps me be a better person, a better wife, a better mother. Growing up as a child in my home it was a bit of a struggle for our family to be happy and live the gospel fully. Going through some hard experiences as a child and teenager has given me more realization now as an adult how important the gospel is in helping me be happy. Living the gospel principles makes a HUGE difference in how I treat my husband and children and how much of a priorty they are. Having a testimony of eternal life, as taught in our faith, gives me so much joy and hope knowing that if I live my life correctly now I can be with my family, that I love more than anything else, forever. Living the gospel brings true joy and happiness!

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve others. One of my favorite ways to serve is working with the youth in our church. I feel this is where the energy is in our church. There are so many unique young women and men that have a variety of talents and strengths to appreciate. It is exciting to be a part of their lives as they grow and change and learn from challenges and become great young adults. I also appreciate the opportunity to visit individual adult sisters at church, including those that are mostly homebound. They offer so much history to learn from as they share their life experiences from many decades ago. I really try to be supportive to our local church leaders when they encourage us to serve, make changes or strengthen ourselves spiritually. I look forward to our world wide conference sessions televised twice a year and am excited to be inspired and learn from the messages given by our Prophet Thomas Monson and those in the Quorum of the Twelve as well as other leaders. I try hard to say and do those things in our community that reflect my beliefs and help others respect and trust me.
