Hi I'm Barbara

I grew up in Utah and now live in Washington. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 7 amazing children and 21 wonderful grandchildren. I love the outdoors, quilting and tennis. I enjoy volunteering and working with children. I have been a foster mother to new born babies and I love to travel and read.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so thankful to be a Mormon. In the church we believe in Eternal Families. I so love my husband and my family and I can't imagine living for eternity and not having them there with me as a family. The church also gives us opportunities to serve. When I was first married, I was very shy. As I accepted different responsibilities in the church such as teaching small children, then being a counselor in a presidency, to being the President of different organizations, I grew. My confidence level increased and soon I was leading and speaking in front of large congregations. No where else would I have been given such a wide range of responsibilities that forced me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to grow and develop talents I didn't even know I had. The teachings of the church give me peace of mind in this troubled and turbulent world. Our prophet and apostles don't believe in tearing down other religions or being negative. Whenever they speak, it is always in a very positive and uplifting way. I am thankful to have a living prophet on the earth today to help guide us through these times. I am thankful for my Savior and His wonderful gift to me.

How I live my faith

The church has always encouraged us to serve others. I volunteer at the hospital and I am on the Board for Habitat for Humanity. I have also been a foster mother for new born babies. In the church I work with the Young Women ages 12-18. I have also worked with small children as well as adults teaching and organizing various activities.
