Hi I'm Kami

I was raised in Alaska and I love camping and hiking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently live in Arizona and I work for a University. I am attending school online and getting my degree in Health Administration. I also went to Cosmetology school which has given me the opportunity to share my talents and skills with others. I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Paraguay Asuncion. I love decorating my house, hanging out with my friends, attending the temple, and serving in any way I can. I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews and I absolutely love spending time with them. I love watching basketball and I am a huge fan of the Utah Jazz.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be in a home centered around the gospel of Jesus Christ; therefore, I learned at a very young age the wonderful message of the restored gospel on the earth. As I grew older I could no longer live off the testimony of my parents; I had to find out for myself. When I was 8 years old I chose to be baptized, and becoming a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ has been my goal ever since. I have gone through many trials in my life that have tested my commitment to the Lord. The knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father and His plan in providing a Savior to allow me a way to get back to him has strengthened me when I thought I could not go any further. Having an understanding that I am a daughter of God is the most precious knowledge I could have ever been given. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth. I know that God has called a prophet on the earth today to lead and guide us so that we have every possible tool and opportunity to return to our eternal home above. It was through reading the Book of Mormon and sincerely praying to my Heavenly Father that I came to know for myself that this was the true church on the earth. It has brought me closer to my Savior than I could have ever imagined. I know that Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and that He died for each one of us because He loved us so much and could not bare to not see us obtain our divine potential. I am Mormon because it is through the restored gospel and priesthood authority that I can be baptized and make sacred covenants with my Heavenly Father to keep his commandments. It is through that priesthood authority that has been restored that allows me to be sealed in the temple one day to a worthy young man for time and all eternity so that I can be with my family forever. It is because of that knowledge and testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel that I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as president over the sisters in my single adult ward. The ward I am in caters to 18-30 year old young adults that are still single in the church. It allows them to meet with others their age that are in the same stage of life as them. As president I am given the opportunity to watch over all of the woman in my area. I look out for the women's needs, coordinate teachers to go in pairs and visit each woman in her home, teach lessons, bare testimony, conduct additional meetings to help the them learn self-reliance and other useful skills, and help the them grow in the gospel and close to their Savior. I work with two other women and a secretary who are given the assignment to assist me as president; this forms our presidency. It is through this presidency that we come together and find out the needs of the women along with priesthood leaders to know how each one can be watched over in an individual way so that they know of their worth. Each one is accounted for on a regular basis. This organization is set up to help each daughter of God understand her divine worth and find joy in living and learning from the gospel. I have been greatly blessed as I have served as president in this capacity. The love that I have for my Savior and every woman I have come in contact with through service has greatly blessed my life. It is through this opportunity to teach and serve that I have found myself. As said in the scriptures, he that loseth his life for the gospel shall find it. That has truly been the case for me. It is through selfless acts of service that we grow to reach our divine potential. The Lord gives me everything I have and this has been my way to show my gratitude to him by giving everything I have back to him through obedience to his commandments and service to my brothers and sisters. It has changed my life forever.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, Mormons are Christians. We believe in our Savior Jesus Christ and know He is the Son of God. Everything in the church and in our lives center around his teachings and gospel. It is through His atoning sacrifice that we have the opportunity to be cleansed of our sins and be forgiven so we can become more like our Heavenly Father and return to live with Him, which is our goal. It is for this reason that the church through divine inspiration was named after Jesus Christ, because this is His church on the earth. We pray to our Father in the name of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon also testifies of our Savior Jesus Christ for it is another testament of His mission here on earth to bring salvation to each one of us as we do our part. We know He lives and He is the head of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
