Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 38 years-old and enjoy spending time with my wife and son. I also love listening to all kinds of music--especially rock--and watching movies. I like many different genres, but comedies and action-adventure are probably my two favorites. I probably spend way too much time in front of the computer, but I do try to get out and ride bikes with my son and go for walks with my wife when it's not too hot outside. (Did I mention that I live in Arizona?) :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that has always been active in the LDS Church. Through the examples of my parents, older brothers and church leaders, I have developed a strong faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to follow Him and try to be more like Him. Like my two older brothers, I served a two-year mission to Venezuela where my testimony of Jesus Christ was strengthened and I had many experiences and met many people who I will never forget and hold dear in my heart. I am far from perfect and as a "practicing Mormon" I probably need a lot more practice, but that is what following our Savior is all about; realizing our shortcomings and relying on the Lord to help us be better people.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in my local ward (congregation.) I have been a Webelos leader over the 10 year-old Cub Scouts, and have also served in the nursery, caring for children who are 18 months to 3 years-old during church meetings. I currently teach a group of 12 year-old boys and girls along with my wife. I really enjoy working with the youth and have a lot of fun with them.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. We respect him as a prophet of God who helped translate the Book of Mormon and restored many important aspects of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. We worship God (Heavenly Father) and his son, Jesus Christ, who is our savior. Show more Show less
