Hi I'm Colleen

I am a woman that loves projects and family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. Enjoyed growing up on a ranch. Had lots of fun at college. That's where I met my husband. We had the opportunity to live in different parts of this country because of his work and really loved every city. Have seven children and a boy who has become part of our family. They are all married and have their own families. I spend most of my time being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In my spare time I love to play the piano and sing, read good books, watch movies listen to good music and play games with the grandchildren. I still enjoy going on dates with my husband. I have had breast cancer and all the treatments and am okay now. It's fun to get together with the girls and have lunch. Don't know how to text. My memory is fading and I have to look for everything. Other than that and a few aches and pains I am doing great. I also love to sew, knit and crochet.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 8 years old. My family are all mormons and we lived in a town that had lots of mormons. It was a way of life for me. I loved going to church and participating in Primary, then Young Women then Relief Society. We were taught to live the Savior's commandments and that Jesus and Heavenly Father loves me. I still feel the same after 72 years. As a mormon I have found in my life love, comfort, faith that I can endure illnesses and go on after tragedies and other challenges. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ I know that I m a spiritual child of God, the eternal Father and that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and that he died for all man kind. I know that Jesus Christ restored his gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith and that it is on the earth today to help us while we are on earth. I know that when we die that our spirits still live and that I will be with all my family again for ever. We have the information through scriptures and a living prophet, and twelve apostles to help us know how we should live. I love being a mormon

How I live my faith

Having the church in my life since I was young gave me an opportunity to sing with my dad and sisters at different community functions. We always participated on Memorial day program. As I got older I served a 2 year mission. I had the opportunity to play the piano at different functions and taught people the gospel of Jesus Christ. The people that lived in areas where I served were very poor and and my companion and I tried to help them with their problems. I love the visiting teaching program. Many times when I have been ill or having babies, my visiting teachers would bring meals to our home, they would watch the other children and go shopping for me or clean the house. They became my dear friends. Many times I have had the opportunity to help others as a visiting teacher. It has been a great joy to serve others. During election months I have worked at the voting places as a judge to help in the community. I have had the opportunity to sing at nursing homes and senior citizens' programs. I want to have charity and love in my heart as the Savior taught us. I have taught in schools and tried to be a good example. Things don't always go as planned and I have many weaknesses but I can only try to live the teachings of the Savior and hope others will Seek to know him.
