Hi I'm Janna

I grew up in Idaho/Utah. I now live in the midwest with my husband & 4 kids. I'm a full-time mom & love it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large family and had a wonderful childhood. My mom, dad, sisters, and brothers mean the world to me. I don't live close to any of them now and am raising my own family. I have an amazing husband who is unselfish and works hard at everything he does. We have 2 boys and 2 girls that keep us busy. I spend most of my time taking care of my family. I feel the greatest sense of accomplishment when I teach my children. I enjoy serving in my church. Helping other people helps me to feel God's love and guidance in my life. I also enjoy reading, exercising, knitting, piano, and music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up in a small town around mostly Mormons. I didn't leave until I went to college and then served a 1 1/2 year mission for the Mormon church. On my mission, I met a lot of non-Mormon people for the first time in my life. I enjoyed learning about their religions and beliefs. I also enjoyed having a lot of time to study the scriptures and pray. I knew what I was teaching was right and true. The Spirit taught me and strengthened my belief is my Savior, Jesus Christ. Since I got married (almost 15 years ago), I've been one of the the few Mormon a lot of my neighbors have known. I am lucky to know such good people and be able to talk about religion with them. But even though I'm not surrounded my Mormons like I was when I was young, I still know in my heart and spirit that this is Jesus Christ's church. Everything I need to make it through this life is found in the church Jesus brought back to the earth. I know this is true.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday my family and I goto church to take the Sacrament and learn and share the gospel with other Mormons in the area. My husband and I do our part to teach, clean, or whatever is needed to help in the church. Right now I am the den leader for the scout group in our church. I am exhausted after an activity but it is worth it so see the smiles on the boy's faces. In our home, Sunday is different from all the other days. We try to teach our kids that it is a special day of worship. We don't shop or eat at restaurants. We don't go swimming or to activities. We try to spend the whole day as a family. We talk to extended family on the computer or phone. The family is so important and we try to emphasize this to the kids on Sunday. Everyday I try to live my faith. I try to keep my mind and thoughts clean so I can hear the promptings or guidance from my Heavenly Father. I am nowhere near perfect, but I am trying.
