Hi I'm Audra

I grew up in the country-life of Nebraska. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Biloxi, Mississippi 1988. My parents divorced when I was little. It was a tug-o-war but it was life. In 1993 dad and I moved to Nebraska where he met my future step-mom and two step-brothers. As a family, we moved twice before settling into Lawrence. Moving was easier than fitting in. School was hard. Not because I was a slow learner, but people weren’t friendly. I graduated in 2006 and headed to college. After my first year of college I joined a weekly night meeting called Campus Crusades for Christ. It was there I started to learn about the bible and what it actually meant. In 2009 I graduated college majoring in Graphic Arts. I still wish to go back and pursue a degree in Psychology.

Why I am a Mormon

In May 2009, I made a life-altering decision to move out of my parents’ house and into my first apartment with five other friends from college. As a promise to myself, after the move I began going to church. Since a good friend of mine was a member, I went with her. It felt right! I understood what was being taught, the ward was friendly, and even though I hadn’t been born within an LDS family, I was treated with respect. Being a Latter-Day Saint is about wanting to be better than who you are, serving others without strings attached and personal growth with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it was my choice. I will never regret or take for granted my decision in becoming a member. It’s the best choice I’ve ever made. It is a change of heart that is a continuing and life altering path to inner peace and more love than I ever thought capable.

How I live my faith

Be it by pulpit or paper, my testimony is the firm foundation that I stand upon. As a later-in-life convert I have had the opportunity to experience the pure change of heart that comes with the fullness of this gospel. I have also experienced the heartache of wrong decisions that I have made in my life, but realizing that through the atonement I have the ability to repent and return to my Heavenly Father’s presence. Life isn’t about how you live, it’s about the choices you make. My choices have brought me to the undeniable belief in Jesus Christ and the love I have for him. I testify to you that this gospel and this church is true. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I live my faith by being an example to others.
