Hi I'm Marva

I belong to a Club of Marva's. I'm a mother, a grandmother, and a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised on a large farm, in a large family, where I learned to work hard. This has been a blessing to me all my life. My husband and I have four children who are very dear to us -- a son and three daughters. Two daughters are married and have blessed us with three grandsons, who, we think, are exceptionally cute and intelligent. It is heavenly to have them living close by. We have lived in Utah, Missouri, Georgia, and now in Colorado. These places are special to us because of the wonderful people we have come to know and love, while living in their midst. I like picnics, gardening, and refinishing furniture, but I especially love spending time with my family, doing most anything they like to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this Church because I have learned for myself that its doctrines are true. Through the witness of the Holy Spirit, I know that it is the same Church that Jesus established when He lived on the earth, but which was lost through apostasy, and I know it will never be taken from the earth again. I am thankful for the gift of prayer, for the peace and strength it gives to me to be able to talk directly to Heavenly Father. Each time I read the Book of Mormon, I feel it's truthfulness alive within me. Serving at the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, New York, in my young adult years was a powerful opportunity. I love all that we stand for and all that we believe. I know Christ lived and died for all mankind. His atonement provides eternal blessings that make life on this earth so worthwile and so important. It is comforting to have living prophets and apostles to help us. We can trust what they teach us because God will not allow them to lead us astray.

How I live my faith

I love young children, so I am enjoying the opportunity I currently have of teaching the 3 year olds in our children's organization of the Church. They are sweet, bright, and innocent. Christ loves little children and has taught us that we must be like them. I can see why. I also love visiting with my sweet companion the ladies that we get to watch over and care for. Through this opportunity to serve, I have made some very dear friends. I am also blessed in giving my support to my husband so he can serve and fulfil his responsibilities within our Church organization.
