Hi I'm Cheree

I write when I can, read in the car waiting to pick up kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of three boys and a baby girl. Staying home with my kids is what I do. Sometimes I do great other times well, I do my best. Motherhood is what I'm putting most of my energy in. But I love to write the stories that so often fill my head. One day I hope to finish the book I've been working on. But like J.R.R. Tolkien said in his forward, The books "went on in intervals... a period in which I had many duties I did not neglect ...." This runs through my head every time I set my novels on the shelf. Waiting for the time I can get back to writing them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an L.D.S. family. My parents encouraged me to find out on my own so I could personally make the choice of becoming a member. With this advice at a young age I read the book of Mormon and prayed asking God, "Is it true? Was Joseph Smith a prophet?" The answer I received was a prickling of the hairs on my arms and cheeks and a enjoyable warmth that came from my heart. This feeling was the greatest joy I had ever experienced. I knew that I wanted to feel that joy all the time my testimony was born. I later came to understand that the feeling I received was the Holy Ghost sent from God whispering to my spirit. I know the Book of Mormon is truth and teaches great and wonderful things. I know that Joseph smith translated and made this Book possible. I've never waver in this knowledge. The great thing about being a Mormon is the overwhelming joy I felt as a girl I get to experience on a regular basis as I attend my church meetings, serve in callings, have family prayer and family home evening.I get so much happiness, love and goodness from this church. It can only be from my Heavenly Father who loves me and wants me to be happy.

How I live my faith

The women in our ward get together regularly giving me the opportunity to pick the knowledgeable brains of the mothers who have raised their children. Oh! How many problems and troubles I've solved from this network of righteous mothers. Dances...Scavenger hunts...ice blocking...Black light volleyball...Cook-offs...Game shows...Dinner theater...Working with the youth makes me feel like a kid again. So much fun and socializing. Youth are amazing in the church. They are the ones working hard after tornadoes hit, helping plant gardens and mow lawns. Boy scouts and Cub scouts is part of my life on a weekly basis. The Charater traits they learn in this program will give them great opportunities in their adult lives.
